Tanjung Bin T4 1000 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant, Malaysia
The Tanjung Bin 3x700 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant at the southern tip of the West Malaysian Peninsula was extended by a new 1000 MW coal-fired unit. This is one of the first supercritical power generating units in Southeast Asia. A key aspect of project development was the integration of the new plant into an existing facility without interruption of operation. Thorough analysis of existing installations and operational procedures meant that the risk of interrupting operations during power plant extension could be averted and, at the same time, costs could be optimized by exploiting synergies.
