Selected project examples

Vietnam is the fastest growing wind energy market in Southeast Asia. A guaranteed feed-in tariff (FiT) has given a big boost to the wind industry in Vietnam. Especially in the last two years, many onshore and nearshore projects are emerging.

At the same time, COVID-19 is a major burden for the industry, as the measures taken to contain the pandemic pose many new challenges. Despite strict entry restrictions to Vietnam, disrupted supply chains and blocked transport routes at sea and onshore, Fichtner was able to assist its clients as Owner's Engineer in the successful implementation of the projects. Before the expiry of the FiT on October 31, 2021, the five projects supported by Fichtner reached commercial operation.

We supported our clients throughout tendering and contract negotiations, design review to commissioning, and preparations for the O&M phase. We were able to rely on our international experts in Stuttgart, our local office in Hanoi and our experienced on-site teams. The multinational set-up was particularly helpful in these challenging times with closed borders.
