At its Porto Tolle operating site, the Italian energy utility, Enel, erected a new coal-fired power plant with demonstration on an industrial-scale of post-combustion CO2 capture. Fichtner as technical adviser supported Enel in implementing a procurement strategy that had been jointly developed for this facility. We drew up the technical and commercial specifications for the invitation to tender for front end engineering and design (FEED), followed by contract negotiations and award, monitored FEED processes, and evaluated their outcomes as a basis for taking a final capital investment decision.
