Rapid assessment tool for sustainable sediment management, worldwide
To counteract the increasing problem of reservoir silting, Fichtner, together with the World Bank, develops the new Reservoir Conservation (RESCON) approach to identify economically optimal and technically viable approaches to sustainably manage reservoirs for water supply and hydropower generation. The purpose of the software used for the RESCON approach is to assist water resource developers and engineers in preliminary screening of candidate sediment management options.
