FKIS rolling stock and component information system, Germany
The German Federal Railway Authority (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt - EBA), as regulators, maintains Germany’s rolling stock register. Fichtner IT Consulting designed and set up the information system for entering data on and workflow-based administration of all rolling stock registered in Germany as one of EBA’s tasks. The system provides owners with an online application for registration and possesses a data warehouse component for statistical evaluations. It is also hooked up to the European Centralized Virtual Vehicle Register (ECVVR) of the European Railway Agency.
