Analyses and target network optimization of a 20 kV grid, Germany
The municipal utility’s 20 kV medium-voltage power grid in Tuttlingen has evolved over time. Increases in the demand of a major customer prompted the idea of constructing a new 110/20 kV substation. To provide the basis for taking a decision on this investment and future network development, we determined anticipated extension requirements, analyzed the entire 20 kV grid with regard to load flow, short-circuit and protection, and worked out a grid development strategy. The result is a target network which can be successively implemented in grid planning over the coming years.
