Designing a target network for the low- and medium-voltage grid in the city of Gütersloh, Germany
The power distribution company supplies electricity to the city of Gütersloh and its environs, with a population of around 98,000. The total load peak is currently some 80 MVA. The electricity is made available in three 110/10 kV substations, and the medium-voltage grid consists primarily of around 500 km of cabling. Strategic grid planning was necessary to ensure reliable and cost-efficient operation of the grid.
