Consultancy for the development of a roadmap and national strategy for green hydrogen, Ecuador

Fichtner was commissioned to develop a roadmap for the production and use of green hydrogen in Ecuador. The aim was to enable the country to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 20-25% by 2025. As part of this project, the cost competitiveness of green hydrogen and its derivatives was analyzed, domestic demand and potential applications were assessed, export potential was determined, and the legal framework was reviewed. Based on these findings, Fichtner developed a national strategy for the production and use of green hydrogen and its derivatives, taking into account power sector planning and climate policy, and described the milestones, investment requirements, and indicators for short-, medium-, and long-term actions.
