Presentation at the 5th Floating Solar PV Forum in Amsterdam

[Translate to EN:]

This year, our colleague Thomas Meyer will present Fichtner's unique approach to developing full hybridization schemes for floating PV systems at new or refurbished hydropower plants at the 5th FPV Forum in Amsterdam.

In a video on LinkedIn, our colleague gives a personal insight into what you can expect from his presentation.

The presentation
The presentation will go into detail about the crucial steps and the use of tools developed by Fichtner to unlock new potential for floating PV systems in full hybrid operation.

Floating PV systems are an emerging technology with significant growth potential. Demand is increasing, especially on islands, where water surface is often more cost-effective than land.

While current developments are primarily focused on artificial freshwater reservoirs, the combination of offshore PV plants with offshore wind turbines offers the opportunity to create efficient hybrid systems. These can ensure a more stable and reliable energy supply for the power grid.

The event
The 5th Floating Solar PV Forum will take place from 26 to 28 May 2025 in Amsterdam. The conference will focus on the global relevance of floating solar systems and bring together leading experts and policy makers. Together, they will discuss the most promising opportunities in the renewable energy sector, from infrastructure expansion to electrification and decarbonisation.
