Kpone 230 MW GT Power Plant, Ghana
A 230 MWe simple cycle gas turbine power plant fired with fuel gas and distillate oil as backup fuel was built in Tema, near Accra. Zakhem Construction Ghana Ltd. was retained by the Ghanaian Ministry of Energy as EPC contractor. Zakhem contracted Fichtner to provide services for all engineering disciplines and to coordinate construction. The project was broken down into four main lots: gas turbine generator with its auxiliaries; mechanical balance of plant; electrical balance of plant; and civil works.
