Selected project examples

For provision of the on-site infrastructure of new docking facilities for the A380 Airbus at Frankfurt Airport, Fichtner was entrusted with planning the apron of area 74,000 m², including a 400 Hz electricity supply for three parking bays as well as other outdoor facilities with roads, laydown areas and vehicle parks, totaling 30,000 m², to include lighting. Also planned were central services supply and disposal networks for rainwater (in three subnetworks), sanitary wastewater, drinking and service water, group heating and cable conduits as well as the control building of area 460 m² together with gate/barrier systems and perimeter fencing for the entire compound. On the basis of the officially approved plans, Fichtner was responsible for overall planning, general project management, site supervision and project oversight for the apron, outdoor facilities, central services supply and waste disposal facilities, as well as the central control location.
