About the Department

Our “Power Transmission and Distribution” department focuses on planning and optimizing installations. Significant technologies in this context are high-voltage alternating current and high-voltage direct current transmission on all voltage levels, both via overhead and gas-insulated transmission lines (GIL) and via cables, as well as transformer substations, open-air switchgear and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS).

Power Transmission / Power Distribution Project Manager for the Africa Region (m/f/x)

Your Tasks

  • Planning, designing and comprehensively managing the implementation of power transmission projects in Africa, i.e. upgrade, modification or construction of medium/high-voltage switchgear
  • Fully responsible project management (technical, contractual, commercial) and project coordination
  • Holding on-site consultations with the client (energy providers, TSOs, private investors, development banks)
  • Providing technical input for proposals with our sales department
  • Assisting with new business development in IPP projects (Independent Power Producer) in Africa
  • Traveling regularly to the project countries to consult with the client and monitor project progress
  • Drawing up planning documents, tender documents and feasibility studies with input from various technical experts
  • Preparing internal and external project documentation and reports

Your Profile

  • Master, bachelor or equivalent in energy or electrical engineering
  • Fluency in French and a very good command of English or fluency in French and a very good command of German are required
  • Several years of professional experience in planning, designing, implementing and managing energy transmission projects, especially in the field of medium/high-voltage switchgear
  • Experience in planning and implementing bank-financed projects would be an advantage
  • Experience in the administrative and contractual handling of energy transmission projects
  • Willingness to undertake regular trips to the African project countries
