Automation Engineer Specializing in Control Engineering (m/f/x)

This is a position assigned to the “Instrumentation & Automation Engineering” projects department of our “Electrical Systems and Networks” business division. This department handles I&C projects for process plants, primarily for power plants and refineries, as well as for electrical networks and smart metering.

Your tasks

  • Providing professional consultancy to our clients on process I&C / power plant I&C systems as well as sensors and actuators
  • Concept design and project planning regarding the structure, configuration and implementation of different I&C systems
  • Developing control strategies for special applications
  • Assessing existing facilities
  • Compiling tender dossiers, technical specifications and bid evaluations
  • Reviewing and approving supplier documents and other documentation
  • Collaboration with external and internal project partners
  • Overseeing construction and commissioning of (power plant) I&C systems

Your profile

  • Technical degree in electrical engineering or process engineering specializing in automation engineering
  • At least five years professional experience working in the power plant or refinery sector
  • Several years experience in the field of I&C systems
  • Initial experience in the development / implementation / optimization of control strategies for complex process plants / power plants
  • Knowledge of cyber security/IT security for automation systems
  • Intercultural team player with strong communication skills
  • A very good command of German and English, while additional language skills would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel as part of projects
