Ensuring a sustainable supply of water starts with drawing up general resources management plans that have to meet specific requirements and tie in with local conditions.
In such a scheme, “production” – purification of drinking water – assumes a position of immense importance. Fichtner has an extensive stock of experience even of the most problematic raw water sources. Alongside many conventional systems and large-scale seawater desalination plants, Fichtner has planned the only direct “pipe-to-pipe reclamation” plant in the world, located in Namibia, that directly reinstates effluent from the city’s wastewater treatment plant to drinking water quality in a nearby purification plant.
Counting among our typical projects are overland pipelines and distribution networks in urban and rural areas, that have been supervised by us during both planning and execution.
